STRENGTHENING OF FLOOD AFFECTED HOUSES
Project Details
A Participatory Design Approach In the first phase of the project, 24 demonstration houses have been constructed in four villages of greater Faridpur district. The broad objectives of the project were community empowerment, sustain ability through local capacity building. In the first stage of the project a detail study & PRA sessions were conducted in the four villages to assess the existing situation. Then workshops were organized with the stakeholders, local masons and carpenters to discuss the proposed designs. Based on the study findings and outcome of the workshops some improvements were agreed upon to increase the life of the different building components which would relieve the beneficiaries from the burden of recurring maintenance.
